Wonderful Virginia Academy is a provider of Army Child Care services, which is an Army-sponsored, high-quality but affordable child care program specially offered through the Child & Youth Services system in the community.
We are a participating Civilian Child Care Center that meets the standards set forth by the Army Child and Youth Services system. As an off-post center, our staff receives ongoing training and oversight to achieve national accreditation and earn credentials. In the locality, Wonderful Virginia Academy shares the same goal as 800 state and local Child Care Resource & Referral agencies to ensure that families are provided with quality child care which will positively impact the lives of immediate Army family beneficiaries.
The Army Child Care program offers:
- Supplement child care off-post services (to support on-post child care)
- Safe and well-maintained learning centers in the neighborhood
- Child Care options for families who have children ages 12 years and below
- Reduced fees based on “total family” income with discounts granted to multiple children enrolled in the program
